Getting traffic is a combination of a lot of things. The key to success is to create great content that visitors want to use, search engines will love and other websites will naturally link to. Of course, it's easier said than done.

You can use pay per click advertising in the search engines to reach audiences looking for your products. You can use Google Adwords http://www.google.com/adwords or Yahoo http://searchmarketing.yahoo.com

Here are some shoestring marketing ideas that can help you get the visitors you need at the least cost possible:

1. Create the best content you can with the best products you can possibly offer. Your content is your best advertisement - if visitors love your content, then they will go back and spread the word to others.

2. Make it easy for users to recommend your site. Viral marketing is very important -- and easy to tap on the Web. But give your users the tools. Get a Recommend this Site script from websites such as cgiscripts.com and similar directories of scripts. Some even go as far as giving incentives to those who recommend the site to their friends. If only 10 people go to your site, but these 10 people invite 10 more - that's additional traffic that you get for FREE!

Recommend Site Scripts (various) http://php.resourceindex.com/Complete_Scripts/Website_Promotion/Recommend_Site/
Big Nose Bird Recommend this Site http://bignosebird.com/carchive/birdcast.shtml
CGI Resource Index http://cgi.resourceindex.com/Programs_and_Scripts/Perl/Website_Promotion/Recommend_Site/
Hostscripts http://www.hotscripts.com/PHP/Scripts_and_Programs/Site_Recommendation/index.html

3. Rank well in the search engines (organic search results, not the pay per click). SEs can be a big source of traffic. The key is to create the best content in your niche. If you have good content, other websites will gladly link to you and offer your site as a resource to their audience. Check the on-page factors and be sure to get linked from authority sites in your topic area.

4. Send out press releases. While outfits charge as much as $650 per release, there are free press release submission places on the Web. Press releases allow you to (a) attract media attention; (b) get more back links to your website without sending each website an email request; and (c) get more visibility especially if your press release gets in Google News or Yahoo News.

5. Submit articles. Write articles and submit them to websites accepting author submissions. You get exposure for your business; establishes you as an authority in your field, and allows you to get backlinks for your website. If 50 websites publish your article and it contains a link back to your website, then you easily get 50 links from a single article. The more links you have, the greater your chances for increasing your search engine rankings.

Here is a comprehensive list of where to submit your articles http://answers.yahoo.com/question/;_ylt=AhzreGmnCUicOoyedqypscUjzKIX?qid=1006022407481

6. Post a link to your site for free where it is allowed (always read the Terms of Use). Examples are:

Craigslist http://www.craigslist.com
Google Base http://base.google.com
Classifieds for Free http://www.classifiedsforfree.com/...

The first thing you need to do is get someone that can read and write English to re-write the information you have provided on your site as it does not make sense and makes you look very unprofessional.

I have spent 5 minutes looking at your site and it is so confusing, i cant be bothered to look anymore. There is no way i could buy something from you because i would not have any confidence in any of the products arriving were i to order them.

If you really want to have a website in English, you need to spend time making sure it makes sense because any visitors you do get whilst it stays like this, will just go somewhere else

There are a number of different ways you can do it for free, but to really drive traffic, contact different companies that provide pay for click programs or call, or even fixed programs that get you on the front page of searchs. Also as many words in your profiles on some sites will help drive traffic as well.

Hey, I have been in the same position as you a few days ago (and I still am). I've been sharing my knowledge to people from my blog. I teach people things like how to make a site, how to get money from it, or even just current events.

I update the site daily, so make sure you subscribe to my feed. Also, if anyone wants an article request, I'd be happy to write about it. Contact me on the site.

As you can see from what I just did, this is one way to increase traffic to your site. Post answers on Yahoo Answers and leave your site on the "source" box. This will increase your chances of getting someone to go to your site.

Andre... I found an excellent book at my local library that will help you answer that question with 300 tips. It's called "Marketing without Money" by Nicholas E Bade. It works for online and non-online companies of all sizes. You'll learn how to get public service messages out for free; what kinds of products (pens, t-shirts, etc) are most practical; and how to use word of mouth to attract hungry buyers. While at the library, pick up some books on business, business planning, accounting, business law, etc. You can never know too much.

Try a few of these marketing ideas:

1. Start submitting to search engines and directories (when you've done this basic step, you would be surprised that the effect is sooner than you expected)

2. Start joining forums (related to your business) where you could freely discuss about your stuff. However, do not promote directly, be able to give forum members something that they need. Speak of benefits.

3. Try to exchange links with complement sites.

4. Try reading more web marketing stuff and freely ask experts in forums for you to get plenty of ideas and avoid marketing pitfalls.

Good luck!

A lot of people when they have their website ready go through a clicking process. I don't know what it is called but in the bottom of some of the websited, you can see how many people have clicked on your website and that will show whether you receive any responses or not.

Hi - I agree with Tipster above. There's no point spending time/money/resources directing huge amounts of traffic to your site if the site itself and conversion don't work.
