Hi you cannot uninstall conventionally, you have to go here http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2005033108162039 and remove it manually from there

You should be able to install it. It just doesnt like being uninstalled so it makes it difficult. Make sure you disable everything about it you can on the Norton program. Then restart. Then try uninstalling it

Re-install it to repair the un-installer FIRST.
Then, go to the web site for the procedure. Norton is famous for this.

you have to turn it off first. shutdown any running processe from norton...then go to the add/remove list and select the main files first.
