Some people are way too serious. They seem determined to do anything it takes to get points. They never ask questions and are very selective about the ones they answer. They want to be very careful so they can keep those percentages up!
Others are so NOT serious it's annoying. They type one word answers or make smart-alec remarks on serious questions. It's like the class clown acting up and ruining the lesson for everyone...lol.
For me, it depends on the question. I guess I'm a little of both. If it's a serious topic, I get serious. If it's a silly question, I give a silly answer. Sometimes I feel nice and sometimes I feel sarcastic and I think my answers reflect that. But, I'm never mean and don't make derogatory remarks. I don't care about points either.

I answer both the "fun" questions and the "serious" questions with the appropriate answer. Some people genuinely do need help with a problem so therefore it wouldn't be helpful to answer their question with a "for fun" answer especially if they are in need of advice.
In this forum a lot of people do come here seeking help and it is nice to be able to offer that help. The same is true of those seeking entertainment value from this forum.

I think there's some of each. I have even seen some serious questions and answers in P&S, but quite a few more of the just for fun type.

It varies a lot. Most of the questions on P&S aren't too serious - the funniest thing is when a question is asked in fun and people give the most serious answers! All part of the entertainment...

It depends on the catagory.
NOT on P&S, and that's the great part of being here.
If you are looking for a serious answer, then take the question the catagory it fits into. There are many out there who will answer in an effort to help, and not just amuse!!

There are some serious questions but a lot of it is just for fun and then you get the odd pillock going on about religion and so forth.
