There used to be woven socks before knitting was invented/used regularly, but they are poor in use, because they do not fit to the foot and have seams all around. (I used them when re-enacting and I had luck to have woolen ones, linnen ones were worse.)

I do not know if there are woven socks for sale, but I would not want to wear them.

Yes, but they're not used when stretch is required.

Windsocks are typically woven.

Christmas stockings are socks which are never intended to be worn.
