It is always acceptable to talk about your sprituality when it's part of who you are as a lesbian, gay, bi-sexual or trans person or SOFA.
Religion has sustained many in the LGBT community and remained part of their lives in the storm of society that attacked them. When they were rejected by churches and still loved God, they formed their own communities of worship like MCC, Dignity and Affirm which follow traditional churches' "religious" beliefs.
But using a belief in God to moralize, promote doctrine, attack with self interpretation of writings, to spew hatred against anyone is not OK on any site. Religious discussion is not the same thing. But that belongs in the religion and spirituality site.

Absolutely it is acceptable. Don't you get it yet, that's the ideal society we're striving for: you can have your beliefs, and I will respect them as long as you let me have my beliefs and respect them too. Do I care that you love God? Good for you. Do I care that you don't practice homosexuality because your Bible says it's wrong? I can split hairs with you on that and have a civilized theological discussion if you want, or I can just say you're free to believe what you want. Just don't tell me what to do with my life.

Usually it would go under the Religion & Spirituality section instead of this section. This part is for LGBT questions and answers.

It depends on the definition of god. If you talk about that sexist from the bible that thinks homosexuals are an abomination, I don't think this is the appropriate section.

You can discuss this anywhere, like politics. It would be no different than talking about it on a Catholic, Methodist, or Lutheran site, now would it? Sexual preference is similar to religious preference.

If it is relevant to the question, but a lot of the time people cite "the bible" as a source when the question was about something like spongebob squarepants. I always wonder what they're trying to prove.

As long as the purpose isn't to oppress or make people upset why not.
