Ok, so I downloaded all these songs from LimeWire, and they are now transferred to Windows Media Player. I put in a CD -R but WMP says 'no device detected'. When I go to start-my computer-cd drive, it says 'please insert disc', even though there is a disc in it... it's not recognising it.
On my cd drive, like the slot that opens, it has the logo for DVD, and below it there's the logo that says compact disc.
Any ideas? Don't have much time, trying to make the cd for my kids b-day party this afternoon.

try
1. Check weather ur CD is Writable or not.
2. Check weather ur CD is DVD and ur Computer hv only DVD reader.
3. If ur CD re-writable then install any cd burning program like Nero or Roxio

you may want to try a different disc sometimes that works. I have had to do it before because mine wouldn't recongize it as a new disc. Also make sure you put it in the drive that has the dvd logo on it.
let me know if it works

LOL! Getting your kids pirated music? Ah, the times we live in. Don't use WMP to burn music, it truly sucks. You may not have time to d/l and inst/ nero or roxio, but you may try those in the future. Sorry, hope that helps.

Do you have a CD/DVD burner? Your "cd drive" might be a DVD/CD-ROM which can only play DVDs & CDs. To burn CD's you need a CD-Burner.
