We will be staying in Vegas for 4 nights soon but unfortunately, we left booking accommodation til last minute. Because of this, we will have to spend the Friday & Saturday nights at the Circus Circus (luckily we will have the other two nights at the Luxor) but I would like advice on which room to book there i.e Main Tower, Skyrise, West Tower etc?.... I dont really like the sound of the manor rooms but you never know. If anyone has stayed there that could shed some light... could you please let me know? Thanx in advance.

Thanks everyone for you help.... Just wanted to mention that although I keep hearing that CC is grotty, it is the only one left on the strip for those dates within our price range (we are flying from NZ and already have 8 other days accommodation to pay for + rental car + flights) so we weighed up staying at something similarly priced which is nicer but off the strip but as we have been before and sort of sussed out the strip a bit would just rather spend the two nights on the strip. We were just hoping that some rooms (ie tower etc) might have been nicer than others.

I stayed there a few years ago stay away from the main tower and the manor. We were in the main tower on the 13th floor our view was a brick wall.

The manor reminds me of a motor in like the travel lodge. I would choose the sky-rise and if possible take the highest floor you can get. I know most people don't spend a lot of time in there rooms but lets face it you at least want to be able to enjoy it while you are there, otherwise you would stay at the travel lodge.

Enjoy and have fun!

Yikes! Circus Circus is horrible! I stayed there once when I moved to Vegas and was looking for an apartment. I would try a place like St Tropez(smaller place, no casino) which is across from the Hard Rock before staying at Circus Circus! You'd probably be better off in a small little hotel then there! Just my opinion. I think that place is gross!

Try the Orleans it's just a little nicer than Circus Circus
http://www.orleanscasino.com >They will price match the best online room rate you can find for their hotel. 1-800-675-3267

These are the sites I use
http://www.travelworm.com
http://www.i4vegas.com
http://www.tripres.com

The Orleans web site has the best rate>$162.50<

The Gold Coast is $144
http://www.goldcoastcasino.com

The Orleans does not put you through the ringer to price match, just tell them where you found the rate online, they look it up and in 30 seconds you're all set.

The Orleans is also very good about allowing VERY early check in. I have checked in at 6am before with no trouble whatsoever. Ask for a room on the 15th-19th floor facing East for and awesome panoramic view of the strip

CC is a dump, and you most certainly don't want to stay in the manor rooms.

If you're willing to stay downtown, there are several hotels with rates in the $70-$80 range for those nights. 4 Queens, Plaza & Vegas Club.

Later:Both the Gold Coast and the Orleans have free shuttles to the center of the strip. The Gold Coast is one mile West of the strip on Flamingo and their shuttle runs about every 10 minutes. The Orleans is one mile West of the strip on Tropicana. This site will give you info on all of the transportation in LV, including all of the free hotel shuttles.
http://www.lasvegasadvisor.com/transportation.cfm >Free Hotel Shuttles >The Hotel Group You're Interested In >LV Map "click here" will give you times of operation and pickup locations.

If you feel you have to stay at CC then I would get either the West Tower rooms or spend a couple of extra $$ and go for the "King" rooms in the Main Tower.

I'm only trying to give you options. You're going to have to ride the Deuce anyway to get around the strip from CC, unless you're into marathon walking. The cost of a nice hotel on Fremont Street is about half the cost of CC and you can catch the Deuce from there also.

If you travel light(carry on luggage) you can catch the city bus at the airport and save the long wait in line for a taxi(probably 45 minutes to an hour, depending on your time of arrival/Friday's are very bad). You catch the CAT bus at "Ground Level Transportation 0" >Just before you get to baggage claim, on your right is an escalator down. Go down, out the doors and the bus stop is to your right. The #108 Paradise & #109 Maryland Pkwy bus stop every 6 or 7 minutes. It's $2.50 for a 24 hour pass. For more info and route maps

Don't stay at Circus Circus. It's a totally run down property. Dead roaches in the ice machines, bugs in some rooms. You will kick yourself for staying there.

Since you are willing to stay that far north on the strip, try the stratosphere. It's much better than CC.

except you have lots of infants staying with you, i could steer away from the Circus Circus. attempt the Imperial Pallace around the stree for a matching fee yet with a greater grownup environment.
