a hardwired connection is usally the fastest way to connect as it is a physical connection and therefore has little to no lag time, wireless can be secured using wep or wap and has a little bit of lag (you lose about 1kbps/10 feet) but is an easier solution as there are no extra wires to route or configure.
If you are close enough or have the ability to run cables to the pcs you want connected to a router then thats the way to go, more secure and slightly faster.....if thats a little much to run the wires all over the place then wireless is the way to go.

Both are fast but cable has maximum reliability. But I would only prefer cable if it is in the same room as the router.

I just happen to be a satisfied wifi user at home. Router is at ground floor right beside a cable connected PC. I'm currently using a wireless connection at the 2nd floor. Fast and reliable connection for over a year.

Cable is still faster than wireless. Wireless offers portability. You can move your computer around an area without wires, but there is a cost to that in speed of data transfer. May not be a noticeable difference, but wireless is slower.

Use a cable(eternet/Lan) connection for speed, reliability, ease of use, setup and security. It is by far the better option if you can accomodate it.

Wireless can be frought with problems, especially to the non techie types out there.

Cable is the best

it really depends on what you need, if you want faster and more secure connection then you should choose Ethernet cable as you may get up to 1000M (1G) speed depending on the speed supported by your NIC Ethernet Card. and it is more secure..

However if you want the mobility feature and you don't wanna stick to one place , then you should use Wireless however it is of lower speed 54M Max, and you should configure encryption in order to make it secure.

Hope this helps..
