It had its impact on both teams.The Aussies took the game away from the SriLankans in the first 15-20 overs.Still SriLanka made a fight of it.
However a 50 over match could have been played the next day.

While it was a pity that we could not see full 50 overs play in the final, considering the way Adam Gilchrist had batted, Sri Lanka would not have been able to win the match even if it was a 50 overs game, as after the exit of Sangakkara and Jayasuriya, they were virtually out of the match. .

Nature was against Sri Lanka. If it was a 50-over game, it could have been better. It could have been postponed because it was obvious that who ever wins the toss will bat first and win the game. We are not saying that Sri Lanka would have definitely won the game if it didnt rain, we are saying that it would then be equally fair for both teams. But no complaints! If Mahela and his team accepted it with the right spirit, so could we.

Rain has definitely effected the interest of final......but the outcome??i doubt it !it would have been the same as if the clearn weather had favoured Srilanka.it would have benefitted Australia even more ! But both the teams deserve the appreciation...!They have played their best game inspite of the weather problem!

i did not enjoy this world cup at all.

rain...rain...early exit of good teams....murder...small stadium...less crowd....
