i have an acer travelmate 2420 laptop
and i forgot my bios password
how can i remove it or at least find a master one ??

Boot into safe mode and change it !!

U can short the BIOS...there r 2 pins which need to be joined 4 a moment...that'll be enough
u can also take out the batt. for half an hour....it'll forget everything
If none of the above work......u have to goto the ACER people

you can reset the BIOS password to default by opening the case and removing the battery from the motherboard for 1 minute

Removing CMOS battery for a few minutes work ALL THE TIME. But this is easier done w/ desktops.

I think you are SOL. BIOS passwords in laptops are forever.
Call Acer, they may know more.
