In PHP what is the difference between single and double quotes? Which is the prefered method?

Since PHP is active code it requires the proper " ' depending on what you are attempting to accomplish.

In some areas you may need to nest a command which requires a double quote to start and a single quote within the double else you end up closing the double quote before you meant too.

There is not a "perfered" method just a practical use depending on the location and requirement.
