Call up the manufacturer, tell them the model of your PC and ask them. But most likely, you won't be able to.

replacing the processor in a laptop is not an easy task and usually cannot be done at all. The primary reason for that is the motherboard is configured to work with the exisiting processor, but if you can figure out how to replace it, it just has to be the same pin type of processor.....for pcs there are several types of processors, some have 954 some have 775 some are 454, some are amd types so getting the right processor for the motherboard depends on wether you can determine the pin type, and if you have the ability to solder small components as most laptop cpus are soldered into the motherboard rather than clipped in like on a pc.

It depends of laptop processor slot. For example my laptop is with Pentium 4 with mPGA 478 slot. So according to Intel I can put Pentium EE and some of new Core's also here. Well, after that came issues: 1. BIOS must support this CPU - i.e. its called microcode instruction set for CPU. Check site of your laptop and see which are compatible CPU for him - this mean that you have this type microcode in BIOS. If it necessary update it. 2.Update BEFORE inserting CPU there or laptop will not start :)
So how do you know? Find and run CPU-Z program - it will tell you what processor you have and what slot/package is it.
After that check site of manufacturer ask support what types are supported and If you are lucky :) go and buy new shiny one.
Best Luck
