Go to citizens advice.. this is very wrong. They maybe trying to get rid of you because they either do not want to pay maternity or cover your maternity leave. You have rights, don't let them treat you badly.

hey girl!! SMILE n relax...u r now offically loaded. THEY have broken the law. 1) i assume when u started u stated suitable working hours...they've now broken contract by giving u unsuitable hours
2) its illegal to work for more than 4 hours wivout a break (every 4 hrs ur entitled to a 15 minute break)
3) well...only help a legal case, but as u say, when u said ur pregnant they increased ur work load...whih lead to extra work stress, more stress = bad 4 baby...ooooooooooooo the FOOLISH buggers.
go get legal advice. go Citizens Advice n get them 2 tell u exactly where u stand legally (take ur contract along wiv u) and they'll tell u all these laws n stuff that u prob dnt kno at the moment. u then go n make an appointment 2 tlk 2 ur boss, and say everything they told u in the CAB...u'll find it'll b sorted asap. if not...u can wlk outa there and put in 4 a law suit. i think u'll find they're trying 2 get u 2 start ur maternity leave early so ur not off over Xmas!! the cheak of it.

It does sound unfair. You are entitled (regardless of pregnancy) to some breaks - I think it is at least one 20 minute break per 6 hour shift but I may be wrong. You should check your contract as you may be entitled to more. I've attached a few links to websites that should be able to help.
You should definitely contact ACAS (08457 47 47 47 from 8.00 am to 6.00 pm Monday to Friday )or CAB as they will be able to give you the correct advice.
The main the thing is to not get worried and remember to enjoy your pregnancy...I hope it all goes well.

you are definently being treated unfairly. but the problem is there really isn't anything you can do about it. By law they can't just fire you because you are pregnant but.... a long time ago i was a manager at a VERY large mortgage company and if they didn't like you or you were pregnant or something like that they would find a "reason" to fire you. sad thing about it being i was the manager i had to do the firing, they would tell me who had to go and i would have to fire them by just saying " i'm sorry but your services are no longer needed" if they asked why i had to provide them with a number to call. it really sucked because i had over 200 employees and i was the "hip" manager there so alot of people liked me and had alot of respect for me and i made alot of friends there then had to turn around and fire them. i think it hurt me more than it hurt them! the sad thing is just about any employer can fire you by discrimination and just make up a "reason" why they fired you.

They are trying to make you quit.
They don't want to pay maternaty leave.
What can I say? Find out your rights!!!
- Find out if you have any rights according to discrimination of (pregnant) women.
- Find out if you have to accept all work and at all hours given to you. For example: You can not run a hotel all by yourself, even if they tell you to. So if they tell you to do 100 rooms, ask them how much time your should spend per room. When your time is done but your rooms aren't, you still have the right to leave.
- Find out about your legal rights to breaks.
Get help! Get legal advice before they make you quit! Find out about your legal rights!

other than the breaks ( which you are legally entitled to), i'd reckon it depends on whether your hours have changed since you announced you were pregnant, or were you working these kind of hours before, too. Also what kind of hours you agreed to when you started the job. Hope you get some improvement

NO you are not being treated fairly ..stand up for yourself - go and speak to your manager about it, calmly and diplomatically. Explain the hours which you would prefer to work (as if they dont know), and explain that you need breaks. These people sound like tyrants. I havenever heard of not giving someone a break, let alone a pregnant woman!! Please, you must not overwork yourself or it could harm you and your baby.

yes. you are being treated unfairly. sounds to me like they want you to quit so they dont have to pay you maternity leave. They've broken the law big time, so id advise you go and speak to someone about it because they can be fined for this. My boss tried this on me and i had it out with him and said he had to give me a break where i could sit down and eat if i was on a long shift and legally he had to give me suitable hours to work and cut down on big responsibility. Good luck sweet.

This is not fair on you, sounds like he wants you to quit your job. Is there not a place you can go to, to give you advice on things like this. I assuming you are in USA. We have the CAB here in the UK who helps give advice and things like that.
You should not be lifting or things like that as you could hurt your baby or yourself. I do hope the website i have pasted will help you in some way.
Good luck with the pregnancy and trying to sort your work out.
Keep your chin up.

Maybe they are pushing you and giving you crap hours so that you will leave and then they won't have to dismiss you because of the pregnancy - which in my opinion is so god damn old fashioned! Its not like you have a disease or are dying - you are having a baby! Its a special time!
Good luck to you!!.... Is there anyone you can talk to about it at work??.....
