No that money is going to oil companies. Remember all those crazy record profits reported by big oil companies? Gov is borrowing money and that's why people complain about our debt. I almost wish it was oil companies who paid for Iraq War. Those oil companies could pay for big chunk of that Iraq War expense.

Well, it is certainly going up as a _consequence_ of the war in Iraq. Indeed, every time a crisis arises related in any way to the Iraq conflict the oil companies are swift to raise the price of fuel. If only America could be weaned off its obsession with owning and producing huge engined vehicles, oil demand (at least for private transport) would be reduced by an enormous amount. This would lead to less demand for 'gas', and since the price of any good is normally related to demand, then a reduced demand would (or should) significantly affect gasoline prices in the right direction for the consumer. Incidentally, when a Humvee (or similar vehicle) owner fills his/her ludicrously high fuel consumption vehicle with gas, I wonder if s/he ever thinks that part of that precious fluid is, in effect, the blood of those who have died in order that the USA can assauge its massive demand for oil? Because, as as admitted by several senior oil executives and as shown in documents released under Freedom of Information legislation, allocation of Iraqi oil fields was made around two years before the actual invasion.Hence oil was the most significant reason for the invasion, not 'fighting terrorism (which the FBI, etc., have recently said has increased significantly world wide since the invasion). Think about that when next filling up...

Believe it or not, it is driven by greedy oil companies. Actually, we are financing the war with borrowed money from countries like China. But the war in Iraq is in part due to our dependance on fossil fuels. 1/3 of the worlds oil supply comes from the Middle East. In order to protect our standard of living, our armed forces are putting their lives on the line everyday. That's why you should support your troops! They are protecting your way of life.

No!

The price of Gas is going up to fill the pockets of the Cronies of the Bush Administration as well as the corrupt Oil Companys who are merely getting their Political Payback from Bush for their contributions they made to his campaigns.

No. When you get old enough, take a course in basic economics. You will learn that the law of supply and demand is the cause of gas price rises, like it is with all commodities traded in a free market.
Oil company profit margins are not as high as Starbucks. People who accuse oil companies of price gouging are either ignorant of basic economics or are telling lies.
Refer to Paul above me here. How laughable for him to call himself a "realist", the latest liberal code word for liberals who claim to be smart. I wonder if he knows the difference between a profit and a profit margin. My guess is that the "realist" is ingorant of basic economics...

Sorry pal it doesn't work like that. The price of gas is going up because you guys are driving your SUV's to the store instead of walking and those nasty fellows in the sheets over there in the Middle East manipulate the supply of crude to extract as much cash as possible from us poor suckers, their sworn enemies.
