10p^2-pq-3q^2
Factors of 3: 3,1
Factors of 10: 5, 2
(5x-3q)
( 2x+q)
Hence, 10p^2-pq-3q^2=(5p-3q) (2x+q )

let the unknown term be “a”
10p^2 - pq - 3q^2 = (5p - 3q) a
(10p^2 - pq – 3q^2 ) / (5p - 3q) = a

5p – 3q) 10p^2 - pq - 3q^2 ( 2p + q
-(10p^2- 6pq)
---------------------------
0 + 5pq - 3q^2
- (5pq - 3q^2 )
---------------------------
0
--------------------------

(I'm sorry but the yahoo answers' text does not allow me to show you division properly,i.e., it doesn't allow me to allign the terms one below the other as we do in division. but hopefully you will understand the calculations.)

therefore, a = 2p + q
and so, 10p^2 - pq - 3q^2 = (5p - 3q) (2p + q)

10p^2-pq-3q^2=(5p-3q)(2p+q)

Proof:

5p(2p+q)-3q(2p+q)
10p^2+5pq-6pq-3q^2
10p^2-pq-3q^2 PROVED

Hope to answer the question upto satisfaction.
