Hello, whats a good recommendation for birth control besides condoms? Pills Patches etc..

Also, is a doctor needed for obtaining birth control products other than condoms?

Here is some information about myself(if it helps or not) so that you can hopefully give a professional opinion :)

Info:
age:18
height:5'7
weight:150
menstruation:mid month
relationship: committed to one std free guy, only had intercourse once
Illness: occasional migraines passed down genetically, asthma(rarely have asthma attacks),
medication: prescribed asthma medicine takin rarely when asthma occurs,
environment: stressful most of the time with school, school ends in june 1st, no more stress afterwards
condition: not a big eater, many restless nights, overall healthy other than not getting much sleep

Im sure with the given info, you can give a pretty good recommendation and hopefully this isnt one of those "ask your doctor" questions.. well take care

If you have an aura with your migraines, you should not take birth control pills because they can trigger migraines and increase your risk of stroke.
Depo Provera is effective and very popular with younger women because it's convenient.
Nuva ring is also popular but a problem with migraines.
It seems that Depo is a good choice for you, but you will have to see a doctor to be sure.
You might want to consider the nonprescription methods like vaginal foam, film, sponge, etc combined with condoms.
Condoms are the only birth control method that will protect against STDs and HIV, so you should use them every time you have sex.
I hope the links I've provided are helpful

Unfortunately, yes, this is one of those "talk to your dr" answers because of the kind of health history you have such as with the asthma. The medicines you take for it could possibly interfere with the birth control option of your choice.

The only other option for birth control out there besides pills and patches is the shot Depo-Provera and you need to get a prescription from a dr to get any of these. Your dr can help you figure out which option is best for your situation due to your health history.

i individually love the pill. i'm on microgynon 30 and have not experienced any component outcomes. you do must make certain you take it on a daily basis however and it does not defend against STDs yet i'm guessing you're no longer making plans on napping around. while you're forgetful, you should to ask appropriate to the coil or the implant - it protects you for longer without you having to make certain you take something.

sok, there's one more you forgot - there's also the ring that goes inside you and I believe you take it out monthly.

You don't need to go to your doctor's, I just went to the local Planned Parenthood and they gave me birth control.
