They use playback-singers to sing for them...like Asha Bhosle, Lata Mangeshkar, etc.

Thats because they are not good singers. Indian Bollywood is a very big industry and they make a lot of money from the songs in the film. They need professionals to do them, but the songs have to be picturized on the film stars. This is why the professionals make the music and sing the song, while the actors just lip sync in.

Amitabh Bachchan does all his own songs. I'm sure there are others that do as well.

WHY ? BECAUSE ALL INDIAN MOVIES ARE MUSICALS AND ONE DOES NOT FIND MANY PEOPLE WHO CAN SING AND ACT. AT PRESENT THEY DON'T HAVE ANY STAR THAT ACTS AND SINGS , LIKE THE LATE KISHORE KUMAR. YOU MAY FIND ONE OR TWO AT PRESENT WHO SOMETIMES SING.
