Its not a question of just age. Generally a doctor wont look at doing one until the woman has reached the age of thirty or has already had children. This is because its possible that a woman might change her mind at a later stage but there is no guarantee that a reversal will work.

If she was say 25 and had four children the doctor might, but if she was 30 and childless the doctor might not. It depends on the woman, the doctor and the situation. If you want to know for sure ask your doctor. They are more likely to know your situation, and make a judgment on that.

I would think it would either be 18, or 21.. but Im pretty sure a dr wouldnt do it unless the mother already has kids, or was way older. Because sometimes women change their minds, and how bad would it suck if someone decided they were ready for kids... go to get the reversal.. it doesnt work.. and then they cant ever have children.

I know my hospital won't do it unless you are at least 21 and have 2 kids. My neighbor wanted it done after her 2nd but she was only 20. She ended up pregnant again and had her tubes tied after the third was born.

It may vary by state and by doctor.

Medical practitioners reccomend alternative forms of contraception for woman under the age of 35. Young woman can regrow or heal there falopian tubes, making the ligation unreliable.

states don't have laws on this, It really depends on the doc. If you can present good cause as to why you want it done then you may be able to convince your doc to do it. many won't though until you have reached a certain age, have children, or are at to high a risk for pregnancy to be safe.
