Hi

the coil should't really cause weight gain but there is lot of rumour about this type of coil and weight gain.

To put on a stone and half though there must have been a change in either what you eat or how much your exercising. Do you think this is a possibility?

I have never used the Mirena coil but I have talked to others who have and most did not like it but their reasons were because of bleeding issues with it. I would recommend getting in touch with your dr to find out what they think about this situation.
