I agree. The hygiene level and quality control is non existent in China.
It is not safe to consume China made products.
The rivers are populated by chemical plants and the water is then used to manufacture other products.
Please be careful and do read labels.
I have read of fake eggs and milk sold in China.
Also of unscrupulous individuals who rummage through garbage centres looking for vegetables and food which have thrown out and they bring these back to the restaurants to sell.
The restaurants cater to hostel students and because they want to earn more money, they buy these decomposed or pass due date ingredients at low low prices to cook for their patrons.
This is just the tip of the ice berg.

Because it's cheap. Standards are non-existent in a country which only cares about costs. If you would like food grown in the West then you will have to pay for it. The customer wants cheap food, ergo it comes from China, no questions asked.
