I would.
My hubby(city boy) always has a big thing about not taking pebbles from the beach - he wanted to buy some from B& Q for the garden when we live 10 mins from the sea!!! ( me country girl -always lived by the coast)
Maybe if you went and picked them up with a bulldozer there would be a problem.
But who's going to know - The pebble police!!
As for drilling them - that will be your challenge!!!

I've read the other answers. Personally I don't see the harm. Taking in mind the large truck clause.
I have lots of pebbles and other stones from British and other beaches. In Folkestone on a school trip once I even got a few cool fossils.
A hobby shop should be able to get you this box full of sand which you put the pebbles in for rolling, which makes them shiny. They may have also have a suitable drill.

I agree... if you're on private property or in a park or other space protected by the government, you aren't supposed to take anything. Other places may vary. You seem to want only a few, but also think what would happen if many visitors to a place felt the same way... it adds up.
You can get pebbles of various sizes in other ways too though.
Craft and hobby stores sell smooth stones of various types, colors and sizes --usually for putting into the bottom of flower arrangments, or to use as a craft.
Places that sell "rocks" for landscaping will often let you take a few rocks, or charge you just a pittance since they sell by the pound.
You may also have neighbors or friends who have those types of rocks in their landscaping, etc., and who'd be happy to let you have some.
(It is possible to drill them but you may have to find a carbide tip at a rock-lapidary shop ... masonry bits would work but they're usually not too small. Rock shops would probably know the most though, and in fact they'd love for you to buy your pebbles from them too ).

We get a lot of people who buy our drills for this. I dont know if its legal to take the stones but my guess is if it were just a few stones for personal use then I dont think the world would end. But if you had the intention of doing it for profit or gain then I would get my stones from a commercial source. Good luck with the necklace!

It depends on the beach.
If it's a private beach. It's individual property. If it's a public beach, it'd depend on local laws and customs.
I understand it's illegal to take lava-stone from the Hawaiian Islands without special permits. I never checked to learn if it was really true, or just Common Knowledge which is close kin to Urban Legend.

mistyblue and freespirit are right, what's a few pebbles...? oh, but a word of warning to all you folks who live in the U.K, if you find sand blowing into your garden from the shore, don't try and put it back. some old pensioner got arrested and fined for doing it. his yard backed onto the shore and there was sand all over his plants. he shovvled it up and got arrested dumping it back on the beach. funny, but true.

There were so many woodworking plans with this collection and you will not believe this but there are over thousands plans in the one package deal. Go here https://tr.im/RGv91
This is really something to find that many all together. For someone like me who is just really starting to get involved with woodworking this was like letting me loose in a candy store and telling me I could have anything I wanted. That was my dream when I was a kid.

if the beach is a state or federal park you cant take them, if its just a beach along a strip of hotels you can take them, its not easy to drill holes in them though, so i wouldnt do it.
