i need something free and downloadable and easy to use. i have a windows 2000 and microsoft works, so i dont have publisher

Alternatively, install Scribus, a free, open source application. It takes a bit of getting used to so do the tutorial here http://docs.scribus.net/index.php?lang=en&page=tutorials/freedomyug/scribustutorial .

If you have Works, you should probably have MS Word as well. Just setup landscape page, with 3 columns. Looks just like a pamphlet.
office.microsoft.com should also have lots of templates for Word as well. Not sure if they'll load into Works though...

If you have Word go to HELP, type in 'three fold', and it will give you multiple templates for brochures.
I don't have WORKS but Microsoft has online tutorials for word. Just go the the Microsoft site.
