i suggest you do get one. i have a great friend who also has never had intercourse and is afraid to get a pap smear. When things like this happen, let your doctor know you are not sexual active or have had intercourse, more than likely they will do an ultrasound instead of going in the normal way. hope this helps

Yes, you still need to get a pap smear even though you have never had sex.
The guideline says that the woman must be 21 (when I started to get mine at 18 the guideline then was 18 and some drs still use this) or sexually active, whichever comes first in order to get their pap smear.
It also says that women who have health issues in the gyn area still need to get a pap smear every year. Also most insurance companies cover a pap annually even though the guidelines of certain organizations have said that if you have a pap that is normal for 3 years you don't need to get another one til 3 years later and this is very bothersome to me.
Virgins are not immune to getting gynecologic cancers.
I'm a 35 year old virgin and get pap smears every year not only because my insurance company covers it to make sure I catch anything that could be going on early but I also have gynecologic related health issues.

It depends on how old you are. If you are 21 yrs of age or older, medical guidelines state that you should start getting pap smears. I think you should go ahead and schedule a regular appointment with your doctor so you can talk about getting a pap smear at the appropriate time.

Yes, all women who are having sex in any type of way (even with a finger) should have a pap smear. It not only detects for STD's but it can also help in the early detection of cancerous cells.

All females whether you're sexually active or not should have annual pap smears by the time you turn 16. It's important to schedule a regular pap to ensure that there were no abnormal changes in your body.

Pap smear is not done for virginity, It is the laboratory examination for the diagnosis of cancer. Asa routine it must be done after the age of forty but if necessary after the age of 35,

I don't believe you actually need one until you are at least 17 or 18. But it is good to have one just in case you randomly contract cervical cancer or some odd disease for a random reason. It is a woman thing to do, just to be safe.
