It is Paul Young, and its an 80's song, not 70's! The title is "Everytime You Go Away", it was featured in the movie with Steve Martin and John Candy "Planes, Trains & Automobiles". Funny movie.

The title of that song is "Everytime You Go Away" by Hall and Oates.

Paul Young also did a version of that song...

Early 80s not 70s. :)

The song COME BACK AND STAY is the one that made him world famous in 1983.
In 1984 he had problems with his vocal chords, however, his comeback was phenomenal, since Young's biggest worldwide hit followed in 1985 with a version of Daryl Hall's (from Hall & Oats) "EVERY TIME YOU GO AWAY".

This song is definitely not from the 70's, and also happens to be one of my favorite ballads from the "80s".

I hope this helped.
