I don't know much about the IT world but as someone who's done more than her fair share of hiring, I can tell you that good communication skills are CRUCIAL. It's virtually everything when you're applying for a job because that's how you sell yourself. Self-esteem and confidence are important as well, but you have to communicate them to a prospective employer.
Judging from the way you got your point across in your question, I have no doubt that you're going to do very well.
Best of luck.

Well, to be successful in life you need to be caring and sacrifice often, no matter what your profession is. Sacrifice means you will have to work more and yet expect less salary. You will have to shoulder responsibilities specially those that a 'thankless' tasks, risky and always full of worries and tensions. You are required to see 'cause' above everything, even above your self. This applies to everything that you choose to do. So if you have to sacrifice, do it wisely. Interpret your success after considering all above factors. Dont interpret after comparing 'what you have expected according to your talent' and 'what you have got compared to your efforts'! The interpretation will always be skewed!!!
But life doesn't have to be that tough, if you play it well. Be a hard-working, ambitious person. Be honest. Be caring and helpful. Dont go a sacrificing for everyone. Sacrifice only for those who do recognise your efforts or atleast allow you to voice your opinions.
Dont relate your failure to incompetency or inefficiency. It happens many a times that you work very hard, but dont get proportional results. THIS DOESN'T mean that you dont have potential. Neither is it your failure. Its just that someone else has done much more than you. Thus your success is being delayed.
Also all that shines is not gold. Sometimes you get good results, but they may not necessarily be because of good actions. But its only your wisdom that will help you tell 'good' from 'bad'. Best of luck for your future.

Keep doing what you're doing and concentrate on your career. It is work first before pleasure.

Why are you in such a hurry?

Think through things clearly before you do them. That way you grow up with fewer regrets.
