Well, it wasn't worth spending the money on a new intake, but it certainly won't hurt. Leave it off for a half hour.

in not to sure how a 07 focus works but chaces r just disconnecting battery wont reset PCM but with the technology found in cars today the MAF sensor may be smart enough to recognize and compensate for any increased air flow, otherwise the car might just run a little lean

That should change the reading on the MAF should it? It will get more air, but the sensor would recognize and put more fuel with it. I doubt that you would need to do anything. Just follow the instructions found in the cold air intake.

I don't think it could hurt, but if you doubt, ask a professional. Don't go to just any shop, go to a performance shop if one is available. They specialize in performance upgrades, and by going to them, you get a definite answer, not an "I'm ASE certified working on rebuilding engines to stock specs and I'm educatedly guessing....." type of answer. Sorry to the ASE guys that do this, but I'd trust my performance equipment to a performance shop, cause many other shops I've gone to, won't replace worn out parts with performance parts, only OEM or matching aftermarket. Call around, computers are too funky to second guess, and the performance guys have to keep up on this stuff, well, pretty much daily. There's new stuff hitting the streets every day. Ways of changing this to do that, ways of making this smaller, grinding this, cutting that, pulling of that, changing this, repositioning that, turning this the other way, and etc. that increase performance, and they know it like the back of their hands. Go to them if you have any doubts.

If you really want to be sure unplug the battery and take out the fuse/relay to the computer and leave it for a bit, then connect it back up and start it for 5mins and let the computer set then turn it off. then drive it for awhile and it will get used to new setting and slowly get better..
thats the usual reset deal for most fuel injected.
if you havent got a nice airfilter(k&n etc..)you wont notice too much difference ....
