He will get more out of it if he goes to a beginners computer class. Your local senior centers, adult schools, and even recreational centers have these. They can be fun and he'll get the information step-by-step.

My dad used to be that way too. Once the internet came into the home, though, and he started playing Yahoo Checkers, everything kinda snowballed. He also loves talking about scriptures and principles of the gospel, and after going to these game sites and playing checkers, he also noticed that they had message boards. When he found message boards on topics that he loves, he started typing and now he doesn't have to look at the keyboard. Plus his spelling and grammar is like night and day!
It has been a treat to see him evolved from just good a talking about stuff to actually being able to put it in words just as good, now. I never thought I'd see the day.
So I guess if you can get him interested in using the computer to benefit him through one of his interests, it might snowball for him too.

First tell about what is computer and its uses.... Tell take classes about how to use or operate computers..u may start with MS-Office package[word,excel,powerpoint,paintings]..
