To me being successful is not about money or assets as most people would think. To me being successful is to be able to get the most of every single day of your life. No matter what you do or where you go, being successful is to do what you like the most. Prosperity and economic success inevitably come along with it.

i went through 3 days of labor to have a beautiful daughter i am a success at being a mom
i have been married happily for 7 years i am a success at marriage
i still have my health i am a success at life
i still have the Lord as my savior i am a success in Christianity

honestly, it does have a certain economic component to it...
I crave power over money but need money to enjoy the lifestyle that power brings
I appreciate education b/cuz it means power to me..
overall- success to me would be to have a high ranking position accredited by education where I am making the money needed to obtain a comfortable life style
of course, there are personal successes too- like in marriage and family- I would think I was a success if my children did the above as well- LOL!
yes, we live in a capitalist society!
