when it asks for the password, push [select]
the screen will change, but it won't be very noticible
it still asks for a password, and you need to enter [7-4-4-4]
it will now ask you to set a new parental password. choosing [0-0-0-0] is a good choice, so that you only need to mash the [X] button to start a movie

I had that particular same issue.. Have u already made a password 4 it whilst u first have been given the PS2?? If u have thats the password!!.... yet whilst u havent ur meant 2 make a password!

Hey try putting all zeros in and it should work if not look on ur box or manual
