In my school there is a debate around this topic. So I would like to know what everyone else thinks... Do you think that we shouldn't/should remember our past?

Those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it. By facing the horrors of war, perhaps one day we will create a society that will no longer see it as a viable means of national interaction. There is a reason that they say, "war is hell." If we turn our back on the horrors of people dying, then we turn our back on what the politicians and corporations are doing to our world. Never turn your back. Never forget. Strive to do better!

I would not ever want to forget war and it wouldn't make my world happier. I don't know about everyone else though. I have many family members who have gone to war and it makes me proud that they put their lives on the line to protect their/my country. No we should not forget our pasts because then we would never be able to learn. many things have happenned to me in my past that were horrible but it has helped me become a stronger person and help others in the same situation. The whole world would be lost if all of a sudden we just lost memory of our past.

Obviously humanity on the whole hasn't learnt from the past wars, will they learn from the current ones? We as a society have to evolve past the point of thinking that killing each other will ever solve anything. And it is almost always done in the name of God.
