Marketing is the use of questionable tactics, half-truths and often unsubstantiated claims in order to make one product appear more attractive or desirable than another. Like an item costing $99.95 being marketed as "UNDER $100!!!!" Or "tests have shown that ..." and "nine out of ten doctors agree that ..." or the 20 ounce box of cereal that trumpets "NOW WITH 20% MORE" and in tiny letters "than our 16 ounce size."

Marketing is to find what consumers need, a better way (better product, lower price, better location, etc.) of giving it to them, do it, and make money in the process. If in that definition we delete the concept of profit, it is not marketing. It would be social service, charity, etc. Profit is inherent to marketing.

That will be REALLY hard for us to do since we were NOT in YOUR class, therefore we have no applications from this week's topics to back up an opinion.

In other words, do your own homework! It's supposed to be YOUR OWN WORDS, not OUR own words!

Exaggerating with confidence and with belief of benefiting the consumers. Perhaps using a little lies here and there.
