I was having recurring nightmares that I wasn't prepared for a test or didn't have a paper done on time. I hear that these are common & go away eventually.

I'm a bit confused at the question, but, will still give it a shot. If you're still working then this isn't an actual dream but a mental vacation at your cubical, right? A day dream! It may be a desire to not sever ties with close friends from school. If this is an actual dream, and you are having a reoccurring one of being at school. It's the same thing as when you are married and having dreams of dating other people. It means very little. Just that you enjoyed this time of fellowship with those at school. Listen, if this bothers you then the only way to stop it is to contact old friends. Go to classmates (I think it's still free) (maybe not) but you can locate friends this way. You need to see them in an adult setting. See that they have jobs and started families. Once this idea is locked in your psyche you shouldn't have that dream all the time.
