Graphic card takes the responsibility for printing out the graphics on the monitor. If you want to locate the graphic card... Of course it is useful, because your monitor won't display anything without it!

1) Open up the computer case.
2) Find the monitor cable, back of the monitor
3) Track it down to the computer body
4) You should see the graphic card installed on the mother board.

Having a good graphic card is important for playing games, especially. If you're playing FPS games, it is vital that you have a nice graphic card, so everything will move smoothly on the screen.

A graphics card is a piece of computer hardware that produces the display you see on your desktop. Some computer come with graphics cards that are integrated into the main board and some have an "add on" graphics card that fits in a slot on the computers main board.

A graphics card is useful because it allows you to display higher quality graphics on your screen.

It's either integrated in one of those big chips in the motherboard or it is that big card (3x bigger than your credit card) plugged-in to the slot that is a few inches below the processor (topped by a fan).
