My Murad samples?

I got some samples for the acne breakouts kit, but I only receive step 2 and step 3. Where's step 1? Does it matter if I only use one and not the other?

I just bought the the whole Murad pack. But i bought each product individually, not with the kit. I have sometimes dry but overall normal skin which breaks out very easily. First i use the clarifying cleanser to clean off make up and oil. Then i use the toner which cleans deep into pores. Next i use the spot treatment, which helps heal the pimple. Then if my skin is dry, i use the moisturizing gel, but not the lotion. Then i use the refining mask a couple of times a week. This system works very well. I do not think it matters if you have all the steps, but i recommend it.

step one is the cleanser. not totally necessary, but nice to have.
