I know they can access messages sent through thier dispute page. But can they, and do they access messages which were sent between members before a dispute arose ?

NO. I had a problem with a seller and I told them to check on my messages and they told me this was impossible for them to do as it goes against their privacy policies. This is why the message gets sent to your email address and is not soley placed in my ebay messages.

I'm sure ebay/paypal must have some way of accessing it but you'll never get the people on the phone to do it for you. They're absolutely useless - some guy was a beginner seller and i took the chance buying from him and even with every one of his 7 feedbacks being negative and him sending me only half the items he promised they still let him get by with it and asked me "is there anything else i can do for you today?" Then again what can you expect from paypal after all their employees walked out on them and they hired people off the street without interviews just to get people in cubicles to answer phones! I wouldn't give them that much credit with the whole "safe security" thing they promise, it's a false safety net. Be careful.

You being on ebay might want to comprehend that the bidders cant get your manage except they win the commonplace public sale and use the go back manage. you sense you've been threatened yet dont desire to record them because your afraid they are nasty in human being too? proper.
