ordered a new one from motor factors the one thats listed in all his books is no where near right size took old one off its a general motors part and they dont make them no more

You cannot bypass ANY engine sensors.

Have a look at the FOG forum. There are plenty of places that get a mention on there on wnere to get cheap replacement parts.

Failing that, try phoning around your local breakers for a replacement. Fitting it yourself should be too hard, its a simple un-bolt/re-bolt job.

If you attempt to bypass the crank sensor the engine will cease to function. You will be able to obtain a pattern replacement from the autofactors, or as a last resort, go through Vauxhall themselves.

Sounds like a good reason not to buy new cars, however as everyone else has said this takes then place of the old distributor and without it nothing happens.

no is the answer to that if gm no longer make it you will have to ask Opel / Vauxhall to do a search of all dealers for one as there will be one some where in the world!

The crank shaft sensor is what controls your ignition spark and timing.

So, no, you can't bypass it.

if you bypass the crank sensor you wont have spark. try car-parts.com to see if they have one on there for you.
