Take it to your local post office and they will help you put the correct postal code on the envelope (if you don't already know it) and tell you how much it will cost to send it. Via air-mail is the fastest. U.S. stamps, of course, are acceptable but you won't know how many to use. It's going to cost EXTRA to send the envelope abroad. Checking the chart provided by the U.S. Postal System, if I'm reading it right, it's going to cost 84 cents if under an ounce. Over an ounce, the fee jumps to $1.70. Even to mail a letter from here to Canada costs 63 cents. Remember: U.S. postage rates go up to 41 cents per stamp as of the 14th of May.

Eh - put the letter in the envelope, then put a stamp on the envelope along with the address to where it's going, then you'd find a post box or a post office and post the letter.

Easy when you know how isn't it!

Go to the post office. Hand the letter to the cashier who will tell you how muct the service costs. That's it. You have to write the correct address of the person you're writing to in the UK, of course.
