What sort of water damage?

If it was caused by flooding, you'll have to check your policy. In Pennsylvania, a separate coverage is called "Flood insurance" that many people INCORRECTLY assume is part of their home owner's. It isn't. It is a different and separate insurance that you must buy if you want to be covered in case of flood.

Ask a good insurance agent to help with the definition of different types of "water damage" and what can be done for you.

Hope this helps. Good luck!

Hello-this is a very hard question to answer. You need to read your policy. Exactly where did the water come from? A flood? Ground water seepage? A leak in your washer or water heater? Rainfall? An overflow in your sink? What was damaged. where, why?? You must be specific, to get a specific answer. I have been a claims adjuster for 18 years, and I can tell you, this is one of the hardest questions to answer.

Call your agent. It might. It might not. It depends. Ask your agent and let them take on the liability. Or look at your policy in detail, including the exclusions section.
