** Mamanook, poor girl. It 'is' an intelligent question. I am leaving it open as I don't like waffling on about a straightforward subject. (unlike some women).

Well mamnookie, if you think my question is dumb then I suggest you stop answering dumb questions w/dumb answers. If you were British, you'd know what waffling means. Enough said.

Candace C's:
That Americans like their freedom does not mean they don't disturb others with their "intention of protecting them". what do you mean by aspiring the same freedom? Having a President who does not respect the opinion of the rest of the world, and who thinks he is the owner of the world? going to war just for economic reasons and leading a war that has cost hundreds of thousand deaths and threatening our security.

US poses more of a threat for the follwoing reasons;
1) We chose a screw-up as our leader
2) We have the most nukes, and a screw up has his finger on the button
3) We don't care about the environment (perhaps slightly more than China does)
I think the reality is that China's economy WILL surpass that of the US by 2050. It is inevitable... their economy is growing so much faster than ours. That being the case, the US needs to learn how to deal with being #2.

The US is on the verge of changing direction. Unfortunatly, we have a long history of cycles. First, a good progressive (democrat) gets into office, gets this working really well and we have peace and prosperity. Then, as simple folk get money, they think they become conservatives (and join the Greed Old Prics).
Once the GOP gets into office, they screw everything up until people have had enough and they throw the bums out and re-elect democrats to fix it.
Its how it always has gone and probably always will. Keeps us in check I guess.
Pray for us.

Right now, the USA is the greater threat to the world. We have allowed George W. Bush to tarnish our reputation as a world leader and global peacekeeper. Most nations see us as a bully and conqueror; that's why they're rushing to protect themselves with their own nuclear weapons of mass destruction.
Unfortunately, within a generation or two, the USA will go the way of the great Greek and Roman empires. Our sloth, debauchery, greed, gluttony, extravagance, wastefulness, and hubris will cause our society to collapse, our economy to fail, and our government to wither. At that time, China then becomes the greatest threat to the world as it invades the U.S. and takes whatever it wants: our property; real estate; banks; natural resources; agriculture; weapons of mass destruction; water; military hardware - even our women if there's a strong demand for western women in the worldwide sex slave trade. Don't think it will happen?
We're China's biggest creditor: once the Chinese government cuts up our credit card, this country will be in the same shape Russia finds itself in today. The Chinese have waited patiently to take over the world. As their economy mushrooms, their population grows, their new consumerism creates more demand for products and services, and they need more oil, wheat, corn, soybeans, air, water, coal, and natural gas - they WILL take over and they WILL become the next global super power, thanks in large part to the Bush family's 'cozy' friendships over the years and the Republican Party's trillion-dollar war in Iraq which was unconstitutional and illegal - and only started because the Bush family had a personal vendetta against Hussein; Cheney wants all that OIL; and our giant military-industrial complex needs WAR PROFITEERING to boost its sagging quarterly earnings. -RKO- 04/28/07

As an American, I can only hope others don't consider us a threat to the world. Americans like their freedoms and are happy to help others aspire to those same freedoms. We consider it a duty to help other countries who ask for it. We are NOT trying to take over or dominate anyone or anything.

Both are as bad.
Both only care about themselves.
Both do not care about human beings with feelings, they only think about making more money.
Both think that they have the right to make decisions for other countries... superiority complex?
