Yes, it's bad.

You have a saltwater tank, is that correct? There are a couple of things you can do. The first would be to use a scraper and small siphon to try and get out as much as possible. Other safe methods are to increase your water circulation, reduce nutrients (water changes, phosphate pads, use a protein skimmer), add macroalgae to compete with it for nutrients, and don't overfeed your fish/inverts. Some folks also mention Redox potential (adding hydrogen peroxide or potassium permanganate to increase oxygen in the tank) but this needs to be done with care.
