this gets frustrating because the only program running is the Usb dongle and i turned off my firewall and antivirus and all the other crap. The wifi works too its just freezes my computer after a while.

Beats me.
If you can take it back and get a wireless router.
You do not need to have your computer on.
You can add a laptop to your network i the future.
You get a reasonable firewall etc.
You should be able to get one for about the same as the WiFi Connector cost.
