I recently bought a used BMW, new to me but a fun sporty car that I can now have with a successful new job. I had a short list of five cars but chose this one. A couple weeks later I received this email from my mom asking me for information about the exact same cars on my list but one year newer than my car. Isn't that a bit lacking in tact? My mom has always been jealous and competative of me. I thought she had grown up but I guess not?

Shame, shame, shame on your mom! Wow....I can hardly believe there are such parents out there! Parents are supposed to be proud of all that their children do! I find it unbelievable that she wanted the same list of cars you were interested in, but newer. What's up with that? Why can't she just go find a car without copying you? UNREAL!!

Anyhow, enjoy your car and congrats on your new job! Also, don't worry about your mom trying to compete with you. Let her be the fool and you just hold your head up.

How did your mom know about your list of cars and what you bought? If you mentioned or showed her the list knowing she is competative you had to expect that something would happen! Some people are never happy with what they have unless they feel like they can upstage someone else. Be happy for her outwardly if she makes a purchase a year newer than yours. It just makes you a better person for it. Being competative can sometimes be a good thing in life but as a parent I would never be jealous of success of my children. It is something to be proud of to see your children do well in life. Good luck with your situation, and enjoy your BMW and congrats in your new job!
