i cant figure out how to get the shift knob off, 1996 chey cavalier. it doesnt twist off or i can pull it off.

There is a lock ring at the base of the knob that prys out towards the radio. It comes out pretty easy using a small blade screwdriver, then the knob comes right off. Good luck.

pull the shifter into low. look on the front side base of knob for the little slot. in this slot is a metal clip. using a small screwdriver pry this clip out.

I have a ninety 5 z24 they twist off notwithstanding it grow to be complicated as hell to attempt this. you should get a wrench in case you dont wanna cut back to rubble your shift knob placed a rag round it in the previous you employ the wrench to curl it off.
