It's well too common where I come from. I think law says that you can have sex when they are both 16 or something.

I think the laws differ from state to state and they shouldn't...
Unfortunately kids will have sex whether or not there is a law...
People usually do what they want and hope they wont suffer the consequences or get caught...
That's the whole problem, they are too young to be responsible for their actions and too many unwanted and unloved children are born in this world...
The kids having sex think there is no responsibility for their actions, so they keep up what feels good regardless of what may happen...
They are not clearly thinking ahead to all that lies in their path or having children or getting a disease...

By the way, many thousands of $$$$$ will be spent on each thing that happens, either having the child and raising it, or getting a sexual disease, do the math folks...

Hormone, puberty. Thinking about sex isn't the big thing cause I'm sure you thought about sex at least once before you hit 18. Having sex (esp since most kids that do are not ready for it or aren't fully educated about it) is the problem.

Also, a lot of kids tend to think of a condom as a cure-all or something that can protect them 100% of the time. Little do a lot of them know (or hear, or want to think about) they can STILL get STDs/STIs even w/ condoms. They can STILL get pregnant even w/ condoms. Even though they help a lot, they are not a sure thing. I find it odd that when girls say they're pregnant ppl say, "shoulda wore a condom". She probably did.

tragic...people are just doing it because they see it everywhere and they feel weird if they don't..it's all we see in entertainment, advertising, so we think that to be cool or accepted by someone that it's required. It's sad really. We've become such a sexed up nation...it's a fix for so many people. I even have to catch myself when I feel like my values don't match with what I see around me. I have to remember that all that is fake and motivated by money. Sex sells...but it's too bad that young kids have learned that it's acceptable at such a young age...when they can barely take care of themselves at that point in their lives. I have made plenty of mistakes sexually...but I wasn't that young. But go to any middle school today, there are 12 and 13 year olds knocked up these days. Just sad..and scary.

All though sex is natural, we as parents need to let our children know the consequences of having sex before marriage, there is simply to much so called free sex today, and too many young girls are getting pregnant, and being on the pill is not the answer either, but abstinence is.

Consent is 16 in my state. But if it is an 18 year old and under then theres trouble. But I have a son and I am 20 years old and he's 19 months.

While I would never advocate it, we know that those under 18 who really have their mind set to do it will no matter what someone else or the law says. In that case, I say make it as safe as possible to prevent AIDS, STDs and pregnancy.

most of the kids before 18 are not mature enough. but as they get older they earn knowledge and get to know what is safe sex. so i think its good to have sex after u turn 18, u learn to be independent and u kno the consequences wut u have to carry after all by urself.

Probably not a good idea. There's always the possibility of pregnancy, and most teenagers aren't financially stable enough to support a kid on their own.

You can't put laws on nature, they will always be broken. Teens having sex isn't really something new. Ask your parents when they started having sex. Or better yet your grandparents.
