Yea I used to get a lot of nose bleeds when the air was dry in my house - it mostly happened at night. Try getting a humidifyer for your room. If you keep getting nose bleeds, deffinatly go see a doctor about it - its shocking how much blood you can loose from a tiny scratch in your nose, and there might be something more serious - so better safe than sorry.

It could be high blood pressure.
Tips:
If the air is dry, use a humidifier in your bedroom to keep the nose from drying out.
Apply petroleum jelly to the center wall (septum) inside the nose twice daily to reduce cracking and to promote healing.
Avoid blowing the nose.
Avoid touching your nose and nose picking.
Do not take aspirin or other anti-inflammatory medications (e.g. ibuprofen, Advil, Motrin, Aleve), unless you have been instructed to by your physician.

I used to get nose bleeds all the time when I was younger. I was always told it was dry air or the change in weather. I grew out of it, but during that time, we had a big humidifier in the house.

it could just be allergies. try medication if you have any. if it happens agin tilt your head foward, not back, this keeps the blood from going back in (it is realy nasty after in your nose) and will stop when it is ready

It could be wear you live. I remeber when I lived in California, I got them like every other night. It is often in very dry areas. I advise rinsing your arms in cool water every hour or so.
