i would say that it is your computer's problem. Check to see if there are any programs at startup (some programs could be useing the net without you knowing ex spyware). also, it might be your internet speed (your port where you connect the cord to) is very old. I am assuming that your computer is old, because not a lot of people have 32gb of harddrive space.
360 live problem...
If you have more than one computer/thing using the net, it slows the net down a bit

it seems like a common sense type problem
if u have a slow computer it doesnt matter if u have the fastest connection in the world the computer wont process fast enough.
an example would be something like u could give an unathletic person the best running shoes in the world and it wont make him go faster merely for the fact that the shoes wont make him go fast if he cant. so it doesnt matter if u give ur computer the best "running shoes" in the world if it cant go fast on its on the shoes wont change the speed much.
this happened with my computer recently. its like a cycle where i start off nice and fast and as time goes on i download more and more and put more on my harddrive until it slows down way to much. then u just have to go through and erase some useless files and programs

your internet connection has nothing to do with how fast your computer is but if you have extra programs running in the background that are using the internet, they take up bandwidth and that could be the reason why you lag on xbox 360 live or it could also be because of your router and how far the 360 is from the router

No its nothing to do with your computer. More to do with latency than anything else..the further away from the exchange server you are the slower speeds you get. Do you have T1? From what ive seen T1 is 1.5 Meg down which is about the same speed your downloading at. 200 x 8 = 1.6Mb

No, that's not true at all. Lots of stuff is going to affect your connection speed, but not how much stuff you have on your hard drive.

Heavy downloads can cause Xbox Live games to lag, I have a 2Mbps line and when downloading large files, the games will lag, making it unplayable

your connection speed is going to vary... sometimes you have a bad connection on your end
the cable company can test your connection. you may have had a fuse go bad or else your connection is not tightened properly

definite. the extra data on your pc, the slower it gets. the internte is the slowest factor on your pc so it does effect. you are able to defragement your pc to scrub undesirable stuff or pass to the administration panel on your pc in case you're using xp and delete some unimportant courses.
