You can also donate it to the county hospital. They need it and you can be sure that they will use it. Many patients can't afford to pay for their own medical care so they turn to the county hospital. That means that your charity will be very helpful. They might not know what to do with your donation at the front desk, but the brace will be entered into their inventory and eventually used.
It will be a charitable contribution because even if the county charges someone for that brace the money saved by your donation will help to keep the hospital in operation.

donate it to the Shriner's or to the lions club =somewhere that you know will use it
