i would have to say the internet. even though i use it and am on it all the time, there is really no need for it. people did just fine without the internet. people got their news from newspapers and tv and radio. now there is so much info online nd not all of it is true. and a person can look up anything on the internet. this may seem good but what about teaching children about sex, parents are teaching them sex by letting them figure out what it is and how it's done online. the internet is a dangerous tool and i believe it has taken away many children's childhoods. think about it...instead of having children outside playing and enjoying the outdoors and discovering new things they're inside on the internet surfing who knows what. yes the internet connects people from all over the world but what about the predators that lurk there and the perverts? the internet is something that i would uninvent if i could because it is entertainment to many, a research place for some who just type in a word and there is no real research involved. it's taken away the value of letterwriting. no one writes letters any more because now you can just email someone. it's taken away some of our culture and past.

Love this question. I starred it as soon as I saw it, but decided to wait a while before answering to see what others said. I want to make a few comments before I give my answer.
Other answers:
Nuclear Power:
I expected someone to say Nuclear Weapons, and was going try and defend them by saying that it is a necessary evil to develop Nuclear Power, but you cut out the middle man.
Very soon, if we do not further develope nuclear power, we are going to have to start a mass killing of people. This energy starved world can not keep up with the demands of so many people. Nuclear power can be safe if proper safeguards are observed and without the nasty side effect of burning fuel. Yes, there is a problem with the spent fuel rods, however, these problems can be solved with advancing technology. There have been two very well publicized incidents at nuclear plants (chernobyl and Three Mile Island), however it has been shown that both incidents could have been prevented if proper safeguards had been observed.
Cigarettes:
OH, how I agree with this one. It is even better than the one I had in mind and the first person who said it deserves best answer in my opinion.
I have been a smoker for over 40 years now, and I wish I had never heard of the devil tobacco.
Evoulation:
Sorry, not an invention, more like a discovery and you seem to be with the majority who think it disagrees with creationism. It doesn't, but I have beaten that horse to death and don't want to go there again.
Electronic Voting Machines:
A good answer for the reasons you stated. I may disagree with you, but it is because I have more faith in security. I may be wrong, it would not be the first time.
Man made AIDS.
I am not even going to dignify that one.
My answer:
Cell Phones.
It does not beat cigarettes, but that one slipped my mind, but even as I type this, I have my phone at my hip and my bluetooth sticking out of my ear like mutant growth.
It had destroyed private live and leisure time. It means that anyone can reach me at anytime. It causes addidents becuase people think that talking is more important than driving WHILE THEY ARE DRIVING!
I hate the things, but, like most people, I can't live without them.
A lot like cigarettes. . .

I would uninvent the electronic voting machine. I know too much about how computers can be manipulated and with something as important as voting they make me doubtful. If people think they can trust the system...people can be bought really easily. They have had people messing with casino machines..how hard could it be to mess with an even simpler device in the voting machine?
