What on earth is Wade Phillips doing?

I doubt that Wade Phillips is the one making the call in this draft. There was a 'pre-draft' press conference that he wasn't even aware was happening... so it does seem that Jerry Jones is back to 'shopping for the groceries' for the Cowboys

No your question should be what was Jerry Jones thinking. This is not Wade Phillips fault, it's Jerry Jones fault for the trade. And they traded with their rivals the Eagles? That is kind of odd for Jones to do that. Yeah you are right they traded down and they got Anthony Spencer. They should of draft either a WR or a DB.

Do you actually think that the coach decides who his team drafts? At least assign the blame to the right person if you don't like how your team is drafting.

EDIT: Yeah, R52L, the coach does give some advice to the GM about who his team drafts, but his influence is pretty much negligible in most cases. This is particularly likely to be true if the coach is a new coach, like... hm... let me see... WADE PHILLIPS!! In the drafting process, the coach doesn't really have any say at all about who his team drafts because he is just an adviser to the GM, but if the GM chooses to listen to his advice, then he can have some influence in who is team chooses to draft. But it is always the GM who makes the final drafting decision. And yes, I do know what I'm talkking about.

First off most of the problem was in the free safty spot, not the cornner and we fixed that problem. And all the CB were gone by the time the cowboys were on the clock.
