Lancenigo di Villorba (TV), Italy THE CHEMICAL EQUATION INTERESTING YOU MAY FORM COLORED COMPOUNDs....... You wrote "NaOH + cobalt nitrate"... I think you prefer Cobalt(II) nitrate instead another one as Cobalt(III) nitrate. Co(NO3)2(aq) + 2 NaOH(aq) ---> ---> Co(OH)2(aq) + 2 NaNO3(aq) where Co(OH)2 is a jelly PINKish colored. You wrote "barium chloride + sodium sulphate"... BaCl2(aq) + Na2SO4(aq) ---> ---> BaSO4(aq) + 2 NaCl(aq) where BaSO4 is a matter WHITish colored. You wrote "copper chloride + ammonium carbonate"... CuCl2(aq) + 2 (NH4)2CO3(aq) ---> ---> Cu(NH3)2CO3(aq) + 2 NH4Cl(aq) + 2 H2O(aq) + CO2(g) where Cu(NH3)2CO3 may appear as WET BLUish sludge. I hope this helps you.
